March (blanket) Madness

here we go, after almost 2 month hiatus from the blog (give or take a few days) I have 2 blankets to show for.

The first one is a 10-stitch circle Blanket (pattern by Frankie Brown), with which I finished  almost all of the yarn  from Isabella's blanket. Still in my stash a lots of white and grey and I have already an idea for that.  Let me tell you, this pattern is easy to knit, but it takes a lot of time, why? After every 10 stitches, you have to turn, that's why. Imagine, having, lets say, 200 stitches on your needles, it will take a while to go to the end and then turn, start over again.  When you have only 10 stitches, you have to turn every minute once, twice or even three times, depending on your "knitting'speed",  and that is time consuming.

That being said, I'm happy with the outcome of this blanket and crazy me, I started already an other one with the yarn-leftovers from Johanna's blanket, which I finished 2 days ago. OK, it is not finished, but the crochet part is. I ONLY have to weave in at least 100 to 150 ends, I do not want to, but I have to.

And here is the 2. blanket, this time for Johanna:

I ordered the Herrschner kit "Northern Light Afghan" for this one, but did not like the crochet stitch. So I improvised and used the "Ripple Romance" pattern by Red Heart and think, it looks good and similar (but still different) to the blanket I made for Isabella.
